DRC Infrastructure Minister Alexis Gisaro Muvunyi said on Thursday that the Democratic Republic of Congo and Chinese investors signed an agreement reached in January. The agreement modifies some of the terms of their copper-cobalt joint venture, Huagang Mining.

Under the revised deal, the two sides agreed that China would invest up to $7 billion in infrastructure projects in Congo, up from $3 billion in the original agreement.
2 sides also agreed that the Chinese partners, including Sinohydro and China Railway, will pay 1.2 percent of the annual royalties to Congo while maintaining the same shareholding structure.
"Today, after months of negotiations, we have reached this goal," Minister Muvunyi said at the signing ceremony in the capital Kinshasa.
